Hello! I’m Louise, thank-you for stopping by my recipe website! My love of cooking and baking goes way back to high school. One of my firm favourites back then (way back then!) were meringues. Sometimes I used to make the mixture just to eat the mixture! Hah hah, don’t judge me, I know you’ve done it too!
I’m a down-to-earth girl who gets all happy when I discover a simple, EASY recipe that is tasty. When I read recipe magazines and see over-complicated methods and long lists of strange sounding ingredients, I skip the page and continue my search for something simple, yummy and different. I’m all for the classics though – macaroni cheese, roast chicken, spag bol but every now and then it’s nice to surprise the family with something new.
Oh and I will admit, every now and then when time is short, I use cake mixes . Mostly I bake from scratch but these little boxes of happiness have their place! Please say you guys use them too? People think of it as cheating, but I say you still gotta add dem eggs and beat em!! 🙂
On Just Easy Recipes I try post sweet and savoury dishes. You’ll find all the classics on here too like scones, panckes, cottage pie, chicken a la king etc. If you would like to see a recipe on the site that I don’t have, please do let me know. Even better, if you have any make-you-weak-at-the-knees recipes that you think I absolutely must have, please send them in and I will happily credit you for the recipe. You can mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I’m a mom to 3 little boys and I run my own business so time is of the essence and I try and cook or bake something new at least once a week (or 2 weeks or 2 months, you know sometimes I am inconsistent!) to add to the website. I take all my own photographs of the dishes and a lot of care and thought goes into creating each picture.
My main business is selling Party Printables on Etsy – Have you looked at my shop – Sunshine Parties?? You purchase a file, download it and then enter in your party details and print your invites at home.
I also LOVE hearing from you guys, I love your comments on the blog and on the Facebook page, they make me laugh and smile a lot! And if you have questions about the recipes, you can ask me too! I’m happy to try and answer them. Would you like to stay up to date about new recipes and giveaways or competitions? Where do I get inspiration for my recipes?
I do quite a lot of research online about what people are searching for but I also use Pinterest a lot. LOVE Pinterest. Haven’t heard about it? It’s like a digital scrapbook to collect ideas you have, things you want to make, bake, cook, or things you just like etc. You can follow my boards by clicking here https://pinterest.com/limelight/
How do I modify recipes?
I try and reduce the amount of sugar of a recipe where I can and simplify them to as few steps and ingredients as possible. I also try and substitute ingredients that I know would be difficult to find locally.
Can you publish a recipe of mine and use my photo?
Yes, of course you can! All I ask is that if you do use one of my photos or recipes, please link back to me, the URL is http://www.JustEasyRecipes.co.za
Favourite Kitchen Tools?
I use a Kitchen Aid Mixer and Blender – couldn’t live without these. Oh and a stick blender.
You want to know more?
I’m married and have 3 little boys. My personal blog is called Phuthu.co.za… here you can find personal posts mostly about my family and adventures pre-children.
I’m an Etsy lover through and through. It’s right up there with Pinterest. I love the homemade and small business culture of it, it’s inspiring, and of course full of creative energy. Who loves Etsy too?
Whilst I love cooking, baking and eating, I’m also a health and fitness enthusiast…a 10km run is just as enjoyable as eating a cupcake, well almost. 😉
Enjoy some time in your kitchen everybody, I like to think of it as the heart of the home xx
